Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL) is a body that protects you from losing your money or being stranded abroad. It does this by carrying out checks on the tour operators and travel organisers it licenses, and requires them to take part in a financial guarantee scheme managed by the Air Travel Trust (ATT). This provides the funds to protect customers if a firm should fail.

If a tour operator does go out of business, the CAA will ensure that you do not lose the money you have paid, or if you’re abroad, will arrange for you to finish your holiday and fly home.

Many of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. However, ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. Please ask us to confirm what protection may apply to your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected.
